DEPARTMENT OF TOURIST SERVICES
Another initiatve towards tourism promotion and safe tourism in the province of Punjab is the formation of Punjab Tourism Squad. Keeping in view of the problems tourists face in finding places, registering their complaints, redressing complaints, coordinating among different departments like police, health, traffic police, rescue 1122, administration etc. The reason why Govt. of Punjab has taken a Tourist Friendly initiative by introducing the “PUNJAB TOURISM SQUAD” which will work in three zones of Punjab (North, Central, and South). There will also be a UAN managed by PITB “1421” where any visitor can register their complaint and PITB expert will divert to the respective Department/ zone of PTS
ROLE OF PUNJAB TOURISM SQUAD

- Avoid misbehavior with Tourists
- Resolve Tourists' complaints through UAN 1421
- Hotels/ Restaurants facilitation & reducing misbehavior Security of tourists is essential for any destination striving to increase its popularity among visitors

SCOPE OF PUNJAB TOURISM SQUAD
- To facilitate / guide tourists in the tourist destination
- To avoid incidents of misbehaviour with tourists and their families by local hotel management and shopkeepers
- To facilitate better tourist facilities.
- Promoting responsible tourism and civic education
- To curb the activities of touts, beggars, unauthorized hawkers, pickpockets, eve-teasers, anti-social elements and fraudsters with the help of Police
- All complaints related to below will be tagged to the tourism Inspector/Sub Inspector and Constable
- Help to bring the unregistered Travel Agencies, Hotels, and Restaurants throughout Punjab into the loop of the Department of Tourist Services, Punjab.
- To act as Travel Guide (under the Punjab Tourist Guide Act, 1976 and Tourist Guide Rules, 1996)
- Work in coordination with local administration and help the local administration in case of any emergency
- Any other task and responsibility assigned by the competent authority
